The Happy Prince │ Cream Tea Cinema

The Happy Prince is a biographical drama about Oscar Wilde, written by, directed by and starring Rupert Everett in his directorial debut.

Starring Colin Firth, Colin Morgan and Emily Watson, the film opens in Paris, where Oscar Wilde, by now in his forties, penniless and in poor health, is still reeling from being imprisoned in England for his love affair with Lord Alfred 'Bosie' Douglas.

The film tells the untold story of the last days of Wilde's life, who observes his own failure with ironic distance and regards the difficulties that beset his life with detachment and humor.
